Graduate Research Assistantships in Forest Soils – PhD/MS: Position responsibilities will be to conduct research on the biogeochemistry of northern forested watersheds related to a changing chemical and physical climate. Several positions are available related to a new project using stable isotopes to study nitrogen cycling, and ongoing studies of watershed biogeochemistry, recovery from acidification, and phenology. Students interested in pursuing a PhD are preferred, although highly qualified MS students may apply. Positions are available starting in the summer of 2011.
Qualifications: BS/BA and/or MS in appropriate discipline (e.g. soil science, ecology, forestry, environmental science, or related field), strong commitment to career in related subject matter, experience with demanding field research, and excellent laboratory skills.
