University of Notre Dame Environmental Research Center (UNDERC) offers two Field Ecology and Environmental Science Programs (Summer 2011)
Application deadline extended until November 23, 2010. Please inform all eligible students. Hands-on field work, paid tuition (6-credit hours/summer), housing, AND $2,500 stipend. UNDERC-East: (May 16–July 22) Spend the summer conducting your own ecological research in the northwoods of Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. UNDERC-West: (June 3–August 12): Spend the summer conducting your own ecological research in an intermountain valley of the Flathead Reservation in Montana (Pre-requisite: UNDERC-East). These programs promote understanding of field environmental biology and how field research is conducted through 9 – 10 weeks in the wild. Applications are accepted from students who will be completing at least their sophomore year with positions reserved for Puerto Rican and Native American students.
