The Department of Biological Sciences at The University of Southern
Mississippi (www.usm.edu/biology/) invites applications for a tenure-track
assistant professor position in immunology and/or virology. The successful
candidate will join our rapidly growing and collaborative
microbiology/molecular biology group. We are seeking outstanding candidates
taking innovative, molecular and cellular approaches to the study of
immunology and/or virology. This area is broadly defined and would include
the study of immunology, immunopathology, virology, or host-pathogen
interactions. Applicants will be expected to establish an active,
extramurally funded research program, mentor graduate students, and
participate in undergraduate/graduate teaching in their area of expertise. A
doctorate in an appropriate discipline and postdoctoral research experience
is required. A competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and
experience, competitive startup package, lab space, and state-of-the-art
