PhD student position in PARASTOID POPULATION ECOLOGY Department of Biosciences, University of Helsinki, Finland
We are looking for a PhD student with a background in population or community ecology, and an interest in parasitoids, to join the Metacommunity Ecology Group, which is part of the Metapopulation Research Group at the University of Helsinki (http://www.helsinki.fi/science/metapop/). Potential research topics are (1) parasitoid metacommunity structure, (2) sex ratio and spatial population structure of contrasting parasitoid species, and (3) patterns and mechanisms of parasitoid virulence and host susceptibility. The project will have a field and laboratory component and, depending on the student can also have a mathematical component. The applicant must have a Masters Degree or equivalent. The position is for completion of a PhD within four years, and includes a salary of about 2,300 /month plus social benefits.
