Research Scientist Position 
Stable Isotope Laboratory Manager
(Position # 1403)

The University of Wyoming Stable Isotope Facility in the Department of 
Renewable Resources 
seeks a suitably qualified research scientist and stable isotope facility 
manager. Duties will 
include supervising the operation of the facility and other personnel, 
operation of isotope ratio 
mass spectrometers, optical spectrometers and inlet systems, calibrations, data 
analysis, record-
keeping and client support and training. Participation in the instruction and 
training of graduate 
students and research scientists in the application of isotope measurement 
techniques is 
expected. Minimum qualifications include: experience operating, maintaining and 
repairing gas 
source isotope ratio mass spectrometers and supporting analytical and 
preparative 
instrumentation; experience with supervising laboratory personnel. Preferred 
qualifications 
include: MS or PhD degree in relevant discipline, or a BS degree with 
equivalent experience; 
computer programming and troubleshooting of computer software/hardware; 
database 
construction and management; web page design and management; design, assembly 
and 
troubleshooting of electronic circuits and laboratory mechanical systems; 
experience with 
environmental research. This is a permanent, full-time (12-month) appointment 
as an Academic 
Professional Research Scientist with a starting date of September 1, 2010.
