In the shadow of the region's most active volcano, Mount St. Helens,
students will learn how to design, plan, and conduct a field-based
ecological research project. With disturbance ecology as the general
theme, students will make natural history observations of plants and
animals, explore the methods employed in ecological field research,
and work directly with individuals conducting research at Mount St.
Helens. We will travel from Portland, OR to Mount St. Helens on the
first day of class and camp for the week. Interested students should

course fee will cover travel, food, accommodation, and reading course
pack.
