I am writing an article on the environmental effects a waste-to-energy
incinerator would have if built at its proposed location in Freeport, NY. The
facility would be on 32 acres of waterfront property, at the head of several
tidal creeks that run into the South Shore Estuary Reserve. My concern is the
effect that the heavy metals, and dioxins would have on the local environment,
and the risk for bioaccumulation in the local fish and shellfish populations.
If anyone could offer their insight or expertise, I would greatly appreciate it.

Sincerely,
Allie Wilkinson
