Fulbright Scholar Program for US Faculty and Professionals for
2011-2012 is Open
The Fulbright Scholar Program offers 41 awards in teaching, research
or combined teaching/research in environmental sciences, including
five Fulbright Distinguished Chairs. Even better, faculty and
professionals in environmental sciences also can apply for one of the
175 "All Discipline" awards open to all fields.
What does Fulbright offer in environmental sciences? Here are a few
of the awards for 2011-2012:
South and Central Asia: Grant opportunities are available in
Bangladesh, India, Kazakhstan, Republic of the Maldives, Indonesia,
Nepal, Turkmenistan, Pakistan, and Vietnam. The South and Central
Asia Regional Research Program also welcomes applicants in the field.
Europe: Opportunities are available throughout the region including
Estonia, Lithuania and distinguished chairs awards in Norway and
Finland. In Russia, a special science and innovation award to
lecture/research at a leading Russian university or research
institute is offered.
Western Hemisphere: Opportunities available throughout the region
with awards for environmental sciences in Chile, Trinidad and Tobago,
and Venezuela. Joint awards are also available for Uruguay/Argentina
and Canada/Mexico.
Sub-Saharan Africa: Opportunities are available throughout the region
including Zimbabwe, Burkina Faso and Zambia.
Faculty and professionals are also encouraged to participate in one
of our weekly webinars, including a special March 25th session
featuring Adam Grotsky, Executive Director of the United States-India
Educational Foundation, on the expanding Fulbright opportunities in
