Each year the Board of Directors of the Texas Academy of Science
honors one of our colleagues as the Distinguished Texas Scientist. This
honor reflects distinguished contributions to science through research and
publication that has garnered recognition at the national and international
level. Candidates must have spent a significant portion of their
professional careers in Texas.
Please consider nominating a deserving colleague. Candidates
nominated in the previous two years remain eligible for the award although
any updated information is appreciated. Please submit a 1-page *letter of
nomination *describing the qualifications of the candidate for this award. In
addition, please include *an updated curriculum vita* of the nominee.
*Nominations should be received by **Thursday, October 1st 2009** by either
