Pollination Field Technician Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey
Description: Two (2) field technicians are needed to examine role of native bees in crop pollination. In particular, the objectives of this research are to determine 1) how landscape attributes influence bee communities and 2) the influence of bee community composition on cranberry pollination. The majority of the fieldwork will take place in and around the Pinelands National Reserve in southern New Jersey (A United Nations designated International Biosphere Reserve). Laboratory and data entry work will take place on the Rutgers University Campus in New Brunswick, New Jersey. Required Qualifications: Previous ecology fieldwork; experience working with native bees (strong field entomology skills may qualify as well), and a valid drivers license. Desired qualifications: GPS mapping, data entry, GIS skills. Salary: $10-13/hr Start Date: May 20 August 26 (end date negotiable).
