Hi all,

I'm looking for someone with field experience to help out a pheasant
behavior project in Hawai'i Volcanoes National Park on the big island, from
mid March to the end of April (or till the end of June, we can talk). The
work mainly includes help banding pheasants and behavioral observations.
Although the area is not remote, you need to be comfortable with working in
the forest for hours by yourself.

It's a grad student project so it is poorly paid ($10 a day, same as other
interns in the national park). The field assistant will be signed up as a
USGS intern for the park, with free housing available (worth $500/month). A
proportion of travel expenses can be covered if flying from the mainland.

Work sites are bikable from the house, about half an hour each way. A
vehicle will make things easier, so local people are preferred.

Serious appliers please.

Mahalo,
Lijin Zeng
