Michael Baker is seeking a NEPA Specialist to support Baker's Transportation practice and will work out of Baton Rouge, LA.
Baker provides complete professional life cycle and program management services for public and private sector Engineering and Energy clients, including: planning, design, construction services, operations, maintenance, and asset renewal. Our primary Engineering markets are Aviation, Environmental, Facilities, Federal, Geospatial Information Technologies, Pipelines and Telecommunications, Transportation, Water/Wastewater. Our primary Energy markets are Operations and Maintenance, Training, and Applied Technologies for domestic and international oil and gas producers. Minimum requirements include a BS degree in Engineering, Biology, Ecology, Environmental Science or related field. Five plus years of experience conducting environmental analyses for NEPA documents and writing NEPA and supporting technical engineering and environmental documents. Knowledgeable in NEPA regulations and the tenets of other environmental laws, rules, and regulations, including the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Endangered Species Act, Department of Transportation Act, National Historic Presentation Act, Phase I Environmental Site Assessments, and highway traffic noise studies to project processes and documents. Assist with proposals and develop and retain clients. Special skills needed for the position include exemplary writing skills, demonstrated commitment to accuracy and quality, exemplary interpersonal and communication skills, demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced team environment, self-motivated and energetic. The position requires travel. Experience with other transportation and non-transportation infrastructure and development project types (e.g. freight rail, transit, DOD, DOI, energy, land management) and private sector clients/public agencies, is desirable.
