July 2010. 

BIRD CO-ORDINATOR NEEDED FOR WILDLIFE PROJECT IN THE PERUVIAN AMAZON 

The Project is part of the Fauna Forever research initiative and has been
on-going since 1997. It has already completed two successful projects
training over 100 volunteers in wildlife monitoring techniques, leading
towards better understanding the natural dynamics of wildlife populations,
and the impacts of human activities. As such, we are in an excellent
position to offer those who are seeking a career in conservation the
opportunity to work alongside scientists who are at the forefront of
research and conservation work in Peru. 

Join a dynamic, energetic non-profit organisation dedicated to the
conservation of biodiversity, community development, sound use of natural
resources and environmental education in the Peruvian Amazon. 

Bird Monitoring Team Co-ordinator needed to co-ordinate the monitoring
programme including the day-to-day supervision of volunteer researchers and
data collection. 

General outline of the role: 
• Delivering a wildlife monitoring training programme; 
• Supervise survey work including the accurate collection and processing of
field data; 
• Assisting with project logistics, the administration of field budgets, and
the production of accounts and reports; 
• Maintaining communications between the field and the Project Manager; 
• Responsible for the maintenance of all project resources and equipment in
the field; 
• Ensuring the day-to-day health and safety and general welfare of
international volunteers and host-country participants, and overseeing their
use of resources. 
• Representing the Project at lodges/research stations in the absence of the
Project Manager and Director.
