Courtney, It seems like you'll be doing a lot with terrestrials as well. If this is the case, the following reference served me very well:
Borror, D. J., Triplehorn, C. A., and Johnson, N. F. 1989. An introduction to the study of insects, 6th ed. Saunders College Publishers, Ft. Worth, Texas. It doesn't sound like a good keying book based on the title, but it really is. Also, check out this link (from the same listserv but 6 years ago): https://listserv.umd.edu/cgi-bin/wa?A2=ind0210c&L=ecolog-l&P=872 Good luck, Ryan
