***ESA Meeting Attendees: Agroecology Section Presentation Competition Expanded 
to Include Contributed Oral Talks***

In an effort to enhance student involvement in the ESA Agroecology Section’s 
presentation competition being held at the Annual Meeting in Milwaukee, the 
contest is being expanded to include contributed oral presentations as well as 
posters.  The only requirements for entering the competition are that a) the 
presentation reports on original agroecological research, b) the presenting 
author is enrolled as a graduate or undergraduate student, and c) at least one 
author of the presentation is a member of the Agroecology Section.

Awards for the best presentations (poster or talk) will include:

1st place- $250.00
2nd place- $150.00
3rd place- $100.00
Honorable mention - $50.00  

To enter the competition, please send an email to Rich Smith ([EMAIL 
PROTECTED]) with the subject line: “Agroecology Presentation Competition” by 
Sunday August 3.  Please include your name, the title of the presentation, and 
the date, time, and location of your presentation. 

Presentations will be viewed and judged by an awards panel at the meeting.  
Winners will be notified shortly after the meeting.  In addition to the 
monetary award, titles and abstracts of the winning presentations will be 
displayed on the Agroecology Section’s website (http://www.esa.org/agroecology).
