Conservation Scientist, Sustainable Fisheries Initiative

Incumbent will oversee all activities related to wild fisheries research and tool development to inform corporate client needs and interests. You will also develop and direct the creation of a new fisheries improvement program that interfaces with corporate advisory program. Some responsibilities include: supervise and motivate wild fisheries research staff; participate in sales and promotional meetings with potential clients to provide professional expertise; develop goals and strategies for corporations to address key seafood sustainability issue areas in coordination with the program leadership team; lead strategy development for building a new fisheries improvement program and lead the implementation of such a program; represent research initiatives and findings at professional meetings and conferences as needed, publish findings of research and fishery improvement projects in applicable journals; manage the financial well-being of the fisheries improvement program including budget development and tracking, and fundraising. Graduate degree in fisheries-related research or management (PhD preferred) required. Position open until filled.
