ENVIRON is looking for dynamic, senior-level professionals to join the firm as Ecologists, Ecological Risk Assessors and Project Managers in our Northern Midwest (Chicago IL, Ann Arbor MI) and Southeast (Atlanta GA, Tampa FL) offices. This position will support remedial investigations and feasibility studies on projects involving both contaminated sediments and environmental restoration of rivers and harbors. Required Skills Successful candidates will be expected to provide strong technical oversight and management of multiple, complex ecology, environmental impact, and natural resource damage projects in North America and possibly elsewhere, and have experience with the following duties and responsibilities: * Directing communications with clients, regulators, other external stakeholders, and internal project teams * Directing planning, staffing, scheduling, and budgeting of work * Ensuring completion and delivery of high-quality work products on-time and on-budget * Contributing to the growth and expansion of the firm's ecology and sediment management services * Assisting in or leading proposal preparation and related business development efforts Successful candidates also will be expected to be knowledgeable in the following technical areas: * Understanding of U.S. federal and various state CERCLA, RCRA, and water quality regulations * Understanding of risk assessment guidance in the USA and Canada * Understanding of state-of-science assessment methods and predictive models in the fields of ecotoxicology, toxicity testing, population-level assessment, and bioavailability * Understanding of emerging European Union directives influencing ecology, water and sediment quality in Europe and elsewhere * Risk-based and multi-criteria decision making processes for sediment soil, and groundwater contamination * Biota and ecology investigation methods * Understanding of linkage between ecological status and degradation of ecological quality and relationship to quantitative natural resource damage (NRD) assessment * Methods for post-remedy site restoration and long-term monitoring Required Experience Successful candidates are expected to have: * MS degree in Ecology, Ecotoxicology, Chemical or Environmental Engineering or related environmental discipline * 10+ years progressive experience / expertise completing ecology and ecological risk assessment studies and participation in contaminated land and sediment cleanup projects * Strong project management experience and expertise * Knowledge of the ecology, restoration, and NRD markets - including projects, clients, competition, market trends * Experience with marketing and sales from opportunity identification to project award * Ability to complete 40-hour HAZWOPER training Job Location Multiple Cities, US.
