Assistant Professor of Biology: Position No. 86432T, University of Hawai‘i
at Hilo,  College of Arts & Sciences, temporary, nine-month appointment to
begin approximately August 2008; pending position clearance and funding,
with possibility of reappointments. 

 

Duties:

Teach undergraduate and graduate courses in conservation biology, evolution,
ecology, biostatistics or introductory biology.  Advise students, engage in
scholarly activity, participate in University and community service. 

 

Minimum Qualifications: Ph.D. from an accredited college or university in a
biological science discipline appropriate to the position, demonstrated
expertise in conservation biology, ecology and/or evolution. 

Desirable Qualifications: Teaching and research experience at the college or
university level, familiarity with Hawaiian ecosystems and conservation
issues. 

Salary: Competitive.
