Hello Everyone:

I am working with the local people near Parque Nacional G. D. Omar Torrijos
Herrera in central Panama to help them establish an environmentally friendly
research station. The station will offer facilities for students, researchers,
courses, and the general public and aims to conserve and study the cloud forest
and local culture. The station will be constructed, operated, and supported by
the local people to help develop sustainable, conservation-oriented employment.

We have formed a nonprofit organization and now are working toward
fund-raising and generating publicity! We would appreciate any suggestions on
features we could include (especially from biologists or students who have
worked in similar facilities), potential funding sources, or just general
comments.

Please visit our website at www.lamica.org to learn more, to help us with the
cause, or contact us! Our email is [EMAIL PROTECTED] (English or Spanish).

  Thank you!!
  Julie
