Van Engel (WAVE) Fellowship was=20 established to promote research in blue crab=20 ecology and conservation. Individuals of=20 outstanding ability are selected to conduct=20 research leading to an advanced degree in the=20 School of Marine Science of The College of=20 William and Mary. A three-year fellowship leading=20 to the Ph.D. degree is available beginning Fall=20 semester, 2007, in support of doctoral research=20 on the blue crab in Chesapeake Bay, with emphasis=20 on the following research areas: =B7environmental and biotic control of recruitment and population dynamics =B7utility of marine protected areas in conservation =B7food web dynamics and ecosystem-based management Questions regarding potential research projects=20 should be directed to Dr. Rom Lipcius=20 (<mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]>[EMAIL PROTECTED],=20 http://www.vims.edu/fish/faculty/lipcius_rn.html).
