CONSERVATION: DATA & GIS MANAGEMENT (Harrisburg, PA)
The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania 
Department of Conservation and Natural Resources, is seeking a skilled 
professional to plan and carry out comprehensive data management tasks. 
The Central Data Manager for the Pennsylvania Natural Heritage Program 
(PNHP) will be responsible for the maintenance of a custom GIS-based data 
system (Biotics) which houses locations of rare species and natural 
communities in Pennsylvania. This information is linked to a number of web 
applications, including an environmental review search interface used by 
the public. The position will be based in Harrisburg, PA.

The ideal candidate will have at least a 4-year degree in biological 
sciences, geography, computer science or a related field and at least one 
year's professional experience. Must have extensive knowledge of GIS and 
database management systems, preferably in two or more of the
following: ArcGIS/ArcView 3.x, Oracle, ArcIMS, and MS Access. Must have 
good organizational skills, with meticulous attention to detail. If you

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW SPECIALIST - Pennsylvania Natural Heritage Program (2 
positions)

The Western Pennsylvania Conservancy, in conjunction with the Pennsylvania 
Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Bureau of Forestry, is 
seeking two skilled professionals with botanical and conservation 
expertise to review development projects that have the potential to impact 
native plants of special concern or related habitats, and to assist with 
other conservation initiatives. The positions will be based in Harrisburg, 
PA.

Candidates should have a 4-year degree in botany, biology, ecology, 
natural resources, or environmental science or a related field; Master's 
degree preferred. Good client service skills on telephone and in person 
are required. Experience with Geographic Information Systems, a commitment 
to conservation goals and familiarity with Pennsylvania's ecology is
