2025 COURSE ANNOUNCEMENT University of Washington Botanic Gardens is pleased to offer a short course in Foundations of Wetland Science during April 2025.
DESCRIPTION: This blended-learning short course comprises three 2-hour live (synchronous) webinars, four 2-hour pre-recorded (asynchronous) webinars, and two 6-hour in-person field sessions. This course explores wetlands in all their dimensions, including how they form and are identified, the critical ecosystem services they provide, the rich biodiversity they support, and how they are regulated and protected. The course connects what we know about wetlands from scientific perspectives to the ways in which wetlands matter for people. Whether you’re a consultant, naturalist, environmental planner, or restorationist, this course will expand your understandings and appreciation of Earth’s wetlands. Professional credits available.
