Overview:
Motivated and independent candidates are invited to join a dynamic and
supportive work environment. The SRM lab has multiple funded projects on urban
food systems and green infrastructure using diverse methodological tools. As a
postdoctoral fellow, you would contribute to one or multiple of these projects,
with space to make it your own. Depending on your skills and interest you could:
* Develop specialized GHG accounting models for urban agriculture
* Construct scenarios for a diversity of plausible and desirable futures
for urban agriculture and other green infrastructure projects
* Design and implement in-garden and controlled field water monitoring
techniques
* Collect field data on nitrogen and phosphorus losses from urban
agricultural plots to better understand temporal dynamics of nutrient losses
under climate change
Funding Details:
* $50,000-65,000 per year depending on experience
* Support to apply for NSERC PDF and Banting to increase salary and do more
independent research
Application Specifics:
* Start Date: Between now and September 2025
* Expression of Interest accepted until the positions are filled
**Priority given to Canadian citizens and permanent residents
Candidate Requirements:
* A PhD in environmental science, environmental engineering, agricultural
sciences, ecology, geography or related field
* Experience with one of the following:
* Urban ecology
* Nutrient flow analysis
* Water quality monitoring
* Experimental design
* Familiarity with footprint analysis, life cycle assessment, or GHG
emissions modeling
* Good communication (especially written) skills
