Hello,

i am running an net optics TP-SX3-SC Network tap
(a passiv network splitter/sniffer) which has an sc
connection with 2 tx ports.
So when i am connecting this to an network card i only have 2 RX
connection and no TX connection on this card.
An engineer of net optics told me that it depends on
the network card if this is working and maybe turning off
autoneg might be the solution.

I have tried this with an Intel Pro/1000 MF Fibre Dual Port
Ethernet Adapter but this card/the e1000

driver does not support to turn off the autoneg feature.
I only connected one rx port to each of the
nic ports but without autoneg off there is no
chance to get this link up as it seems.

I have found this posting: http://www.mail-archive.com/e1000-
[email protected]/msg02660.html
and tried this solution but this was also not working.

So is there any way of getting this setup running?
Is there any way to patch the source to get the
connection up with only the rx port connected?

All i want to do is to receive the data on this port.

Regards
Michael
