To explain and to understand my proposed solution: * Normal work condition is one workspace active: Let's call this "State One" * When you click Workspaces on the launcher, the four workspaces are displayed: "State Two" * You then click one, and it expands to almost, but not quite, fill the desktop area: "State Three" If you then click an icon on the launcher from State Three: nothing launches. This feels broken. I propose that State Three adds nothing, creates this problem, and should be eliminated. Instead, when in State two (the four workspaces all displayed), and you click one, it should become selected and active. That is, you should transition to State One with your selected workspace the active one. Thus you can immediately click launcher icons. No State Three. A rationale for State Three was that when all workspaces are shown (State Two), they are scaled down and may be difficult to see, so let's give the user the chance to enlarge it before selecting it. I don't see how that is any better than _actually_ selecting it. If they selected the wrong one, they can just click Workspaces again and select another one.
