As part of the big bug review for 16.04 LTS, I have tested this on 15.10 and the bug is still there.
Although 15.10 doesn't have Unity 2D, HUD results are not spoken by Orca in regular Unity. ** Tags added: desktop-bugscrub-triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to unity-2d in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/949445 Title: HUD is silent to screen readers Status in Unity: Fix Released Status in unity-2d: Fix Released Status in unity package in Ubuntu: Confirmed Status in unity-2d package in Ubuntu: Fix Released Status in unity source package in Precise: New Status in unity-2d source package in Precise: Fix Released Bug description: Test case: 1.
