qt applications start very slow in Unity desktop

Bug description:
If I start qbittorrent it takes a long time for it to start, much
longer than in any other desktop environment like KDE or Gnome. If I
start dolphin I see it as a process in ksysguard but it doesn't show
on the desktop or in the left sidebar. I have to kill it and start it
again for it to start correctly. It seems that a lot of qt
applications have issues starting in Unity but once they start they
pretty much work without issues.
