Homepage: https://launchpad.net/unity How reproduce this bug: Switch to VT1 (Press Ctrl+Alt+F12 and Alt+F1), run from terminal "sudo systemctl stop lightdm" and purge unity "sudo apt-get purge unity. Starting again lightdm "sudo systemctl start lighdm" and display manager appear ,enter on account , only desktop baground and expected to bee. Again switch to VT1 stop lightdm install unity (sudo apt-get install unity) and start lightdm service, enter on account but i expected to start unity ,but not. To solve temporary this issue must enter on VT1, stopping lighdm service and remove all content on hidden directory from $HOME/.config, starting lightdm and enter on unity normal.
