Title: Desktop reverts to defaults, can't be changed Status in unity package in Ubuntu: Invalid Bug description: All of a sudden my launcher icons, wallpaper image etc, reverted to default, and when I "unlock from launcher" on the defaults, they disappear after about a second, and then reappear when I tried to re- arrange the icon order. I think there's perhaps something screwy with gconf (? - isn't that where the personal launcher app list is?) because another setting went away and can't be restored (I use caps lock as another control). However, I don't know how to test this or where to look for logs, and the *symptoms* turn up in Unity. If anyone can help with places to look for diagnostics etc., I'd appreciate it. Thanks.
