This is my .application file for Eclipse: kermit@Glamdring:~$ cat .local/share/applications/opt_eclipse.desktop [Desktop Entry] Type=Application Name=Eclipse Comment=Eclipse Integrated Development Environment Icon=/home/kermit/programi/eclipse/icon.xpm Exec=/home/kermit/programi/eclipse/eclipse Terminal=false Categories=Development;IDE;Java; I attached a screenshot and the Eclipse icon file. Also, when they appear in the launcher, they seem distorted with white pixels on the edges - similar to https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/chromium-browser/+bug/670169 This happens for some other applications, such as yEd. It seems that Unity doesn't render some image types properly.
