@Matthieu try to enable accessibility (like on screen keyboard, etc.) from the unity-control-center. Then try to lock the screen. gnome- screensaver should be running. Let me know if you can lock/unlock. Thanks!

Changing /sbin/unix_chkpwd to setuid does the trick too.
