HUD ignores key events when ibus is active

Bug description:
TO REPRODUCE:
1) Change your System Language to Japanese or other Asian language.
2) Open any application (e.g. Firefox, Nautilus)
3) Press ALT to invoke HUD
4) Enable IBus
5) Type a word or letter
6) Press SPACE and/or ENTER
RESULT:
7) EVERY single key stroke is ignored except ALT to exit HUD.
EXPECTED RESULT:
7)
a) To be able to move or choose a result displayed by HUD
b)To be able to modify your search terms freely.
