You have been subscribed to a public bug: 1. Go to system settings 2. open brightness panel 3. make sure auto brightness is ticked. 4. drag down the battery indicator from the top 5. try to change the brightness
What happens: The slider moves but the brightness remains the same What should happen: probably the slider should be greyed out and not movable with the mention that auto brightness is on and needs to be turned off. Personally I think we are really showing too many indicators in the OS ProblemType: Bug DistroRelease: Ubuntu 14.10 Package: unity8 7.86+14.10.20140522-0ubuntu1 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.15.0-1.5-generic 3.15.0-rc5 Uname: Linux 3.15.0-1-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.14.2-0ubuntu4 Architecture: amd64 CurrentDesktop: Unity Date: Wed May 28 15:44:14 2014 InstallationDate: Installed on 2014-04-21 (36 days ago) InstallationMedia: Ubuntu 14.04 LTS "Trusty Tahr" - Release amd64 (20140417) SourcePackage: unity8 UpgradeStatus: Upgraded to utopic on 2014-05-19 (9 days ago) ** Affects: indicator-power Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Affects: indicator-power (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: amd64 apport-bug qa-touch utopic -- Brightness slider becomes ineffective with auto brightness turned on https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1324068 You received this bug notification because you are a member of DX Packages, which is subscribed to indicator-power in Ubuntu. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~dx-packages Post to : dx-packages@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~dx-packages More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
