Same here, but do not have mplayer installed. I get this behaviour about 4 out of 10 times when waking up from suspend, after switching to Vt1 and back I see the pointer again. Other Vt's does not help? Noticed you use a signed kernel. I see this both in CSM and Secure Boot mode.
