Hi, I need to make detailed TLB miss measurements under Mac OS X (10.6.3) with a Core 2 Duo processor and was thinking of using the CPU's performance counters.
Q1. Is there a CPC or equivalent provider on the x86/mac ? I don't see anything obvious related to the perf. counters in the probe list, or via the Instruments app. Q2. Or is there some other way of getting the count of I/D TLB misses without using performance counters ? If neither of these approaches work with dtrace, what tools do folks recommend for these measurements -- (I'm looking at Shark from the Chud tools currently). thanks, Ray
