In addition to what Adam wrote, one other approach would be to be a bit (read: *very* much ;-) more specific about what you're trying to achieve. DTrace is a very powerful tool, and there's many problems for which DTrace isn't the best tool in the first place, it's hard to give any helpful advice for such a vague question.
