Brian, thanks for your response. The Mirage theme uses an alternate dri2xhtml structure, so the template in structural.xsl doesn't apply. However, that did prompt me to dig more deeply into the dri2xhtml-alt XSL files, and I found the corresponding template in forms.xsl. I had to modify the source and rebuild/redeploy DSpace, but I've managed to remove the trailing colons from the "Search Scope" and "Full Text Search" labels. I'll keep an eye out to see if there are any places where trailing colons have been removed inappropriately, but right now it looks like I found my answer.
