What process are other institutions using for importing their institution's ProQuest ETDs into their DSpace instance?
For the past 12 years or so, we've been receiving ETDs from ProQuest by FTP and on a quarterly basis running a script against them to convert the PQ ETDs into a Simple Archive Format structure for bulk import from the command line. Our script has generally served us well, mapping departments to collections and making sure embargoes are properly set. But, it does have a few bugs… I figure before I start trying to knock the rust off of our old code, it would be great to hear what others are doing.
