Hmmm... Interesting. So I looked at the schema.xml for the search configset 
in my 7.6.1 installed version and the source package and found no 
difference between them or my installed schema.xml in solr (which I copied 
from [dspace]/dspace/solr/search). I still have the 7.4 source package 
around and found the schema.xml differed from one in the 7.6.1 package. So 
I copied the 7.4 version into my solr configset and the command is running 
now without error.

I suspect there is a problem with the schema.xml for search distributed in 
the 7.6.1 package.
