Hello together, we have set up a fresh install of DSpace 6.3.0 with the CRIS extension on an Ubuntu 18 with OpenJDK 8.0.282 and Tomcat 8.5.39.
It randomly occurs, that a new item does not get a handle identifier assigned. Independent if the user manually creates the publication via the submission form or if we import an item via the dspace command line tool. The newly created item appears in the items PSQL table as a new record and is shown for an admin on the website, but the created URL ends with /handle/null. We rely on simple local handles issued by DSpace and do not have a separate handle-server running. When we repeat the process multiple times, it then sometimes works for a new item submission. Is this a known bug, or did anybody of you have a similar effect and an idea how to deal with it? Thanks in advance André -- Dipl.-Inf.
