Yes, this is an easy but danger solution. You will need to deal with this customization everywhere, in the OAI-PMH, REST, indexing, etc. moreover, if you need to update an author because he leaves your institution (i.e. become a former researcher) you will need to update all the items where it is listed with the risk to keep some inconsistency. The institutional role is a metadata of the person not a metadata of the item, so you need a separate entity where such information can be stored, this is the approach used by DSpace-CRIS. Andrea
