The project training events are either virtual or in-person training 
opportunities for DSpace, Fedora or VIVO. Over the last year we have held 
in-person trainings for both DSpace (http://www.duraspace.org/node/2414 
<http://www.duraspace.org/node/2414> and there is one planned in Ethiopia for 
this fall, date TBD) and Fedora (http://www.duraspace.org/node/2602 
<http://www.duraspace.org/node/2602> and http://www.duraspace.org/node/2471 
<http://www.duraspace.org/node/2471>). These sessions are open to all in the 
community, but members get advanced notice of the training as well as 
discounted rates.

The other professional development opportunities refers primarily to our very 
successful Hot Topics webinar series. Each series consists of three, one-hour 
web seminars are presented around a central topic of interest and is curated by

The DuraSpace Summit is the annual meeting for all members. The event includes 
strategic updates on the DuraSpace organization and each of the projects as 
well as highly participatory project planning discussions. You can read about

One thing worth noting is the joining as a member gives you a voice in project 
governance. Depending on your contribution level, you can get a seat on the
