Now it only has an improved API and uses an extended Properties object (Java
code). This change is a requirement to our future contributions.
As it is 100% backward compatible we then proposed it to be integrated.
Allowing to modify DSpace configuration parameters at runtime, allows one to
(for example):
- Create an initial configuration step (UI based)
- Modify DSpace parameters within the Administration Panel
DS-1208 could be seen as complementary. DS-1208 it's about packaging and
compiling time, this one it's about runtime changes.
