Show a single search box in the front page

There are currently two search boxes in the front page, one in the centre and
another in the navigation bar on the right. This duplication of functionality
can cause confusion to the users [1].
To avoid this problem, the search box on the navigation bar should not be shown
on the front page.
I'm attaching a patch implementing this behaviour. It also makes the search box
in the front page bigger, making it easier for users to enter text that doesn't
fit if the box is too small [2]. The idea was also to move the search box up
between the news-xmlui.xml text and the community list to give it more
importance but, as Discovery outputs it jointly with the recent submissions, I
didn't manage to get it right.
