I'd like to integrate another system called (Sakai) with DSpace together to
allow
Sakai users to create new collection, store files, retrieve them and
search them from DSpace. To reach this, DSpace provides web service
and API however, the core API is complex. The REST API for DSpace is supposed
to be the easiest of all to
communicate with DSpace over web. However, the problem is that the REST
API implementation is not complete yet and there are quite a few
functionalities which are missing from the REST API.
In particular I want functionalities for the following:
1) I should be able to create a new repository
2) I should be able to upload documents and attach some extra metadata to the
document
3) I should be able to search in DSpace (remotely), display results and
download the found results.
So I'm wondering if someone has integrated them previously or you have a
library on top of DSpace that allows us to communicate with DSpace with ease.
