Tim Donohue reassigned DS-545:
------------------------------

    Assignee: Mark Wood

Assigning to Mark Wood for analysis. Also we decided in today's Developers
Meeting that this seems like two issues: (1) a bug, which could just be
cleaning up the text on that current page to describe the context better, and
(2) a feature request for a better easier to use interface altogether.

[20:10] <tdonohue> Item Mapper List of Mapped Items Usability :
http://jira.dspace.org/jira/browse/DS-545
[20:11] <richardrodgers> 0 - needs sponsor /inplementer
[20:11] <tdonohue> agreed -- sounds like it could be resolved relatively easily
just by changing the wording on the instructions on that page?
[20:12] <tdonohue> any volunteers?
[20:12] <PeterDietz> half is to change the wording, likely an i18n thing, but
it has some change requested
[20:12] <mhwood> Yeah, it's a bug *and* an improvement request.
[20:12] <PeterDietz> i.e. view mappings while not already drilled into
collection
[20:13] <tdonohue> true -- I overlooked that. Any volunteers to split this
issue apart (into it's halves) and/or tackle at least the bug?
[20:13] <mhwood> I can split and do the bug half.
[20:14] <bollini> -1 the browse system could change if we adopt the
dspace-discovery
[20:14] <tdonohue> thanks mhwood -- assign DS-545 to mhwood, and split into bug
& feature/improvement request

> In the item mapper, one can only view items mapped to a collection via the
> collections they were mapped from.
> Just a list of the mapped items would be more useful than the list of
> collections from where items were mapped.
> Furthermore on selection a collection where items were mapped from in order
> to manage the mapped items the heading is a bit confusing it says:
> Browse "Name of the collection the items were mapped from"
> Check the box next to items you wish to remove, and choose 'remove'.
> This gives the impression one is removing items from the named collection and
> the context of being in the item mapper is not apparent to the user.
