--- Comment #54 from udo <udovdh at xs4all.nl> --- This afternoon I found a box, still somewhat alive, with a crashed Xorg, shoing a textmode bootup screen. It was running 3.6.11. So if we assume the hardware is OK and that 3.6.11 was indeed solid then either mesa, dri or the radeon video driver are causing this.
