That works for me as well. I think when we should get away from scatterlist then that should be a separate set of patches or maybe call it a separate project to get done for all DMA-buf parties. E.g. propose something like an iterator based interface and demonstrate that V4L and a DRM driver can live with that and that this approach works like expected.
