--- Comment #48 from Teofilis Martisius <Teofilis.Martisius at gmail.com> --- Hi, I ran two tests over the weekend. First, I tried booting up stock 4.8-rc4. glxgears runs fine both on APU and dGPU. But it fails when I try to turn OFF my dGPU by doing: echo OFF >/sys/kernel/debug/vgaswitcheroo/switch dmesg output attached. Second, I modified 4.8-rc4 & removed my computer from radeon_device.c quirks list (it has RADEON_PX_QUIRK_DISABLE_PX quirk assigned) and rebooted. dmesg attached. It does bootup but with DRI_PRIME=1 glxgears displays just a blank window. dmesg still shows the "atombios stuck in loop" error. I won't be able to run more tests soon as I bricked the laptop trying to upgrade BIOS. I plan to repair/recover it but it will take a while. OS being used is Debian/Sid. I used stock kernel from kernel.org, with 1 line change in 2nd test. Same laptop as before, described in previous comments. I hope any of this helps.
