I've pushed a branch of -modesetting to http://cgit.freedesktop.org/~airlied/xf86-video-modesetting/log/?h=dp-mst
that in theory supports this then, it uses the same option name the nvidia driver does, and seems to work as well as we can expect. I'll probably port that code to intel, ati and nouveau as they get support. Dave.
